Unbeknown to you and the rest of the world, I actually meant the 3000th comment /this year/. When I posted... there were 5 more comments to go, but four people commented elsewhere inbetween then and your comment, so you were the 3000th comment this year!!!

Well maybe whilst you're being astute and observant, you might want to work out on average how many posts I get per day (3000 so far this year), and put it in your calendar when my 10,000th overall comment is due!

Because I keep folders for each year of LJ comments, I can tell you how many comments I've *actually* had in a year - including ones I've since deleted. Unfortunately LJ didn't always email out comments, so I've lost lots from early on (and I've lost some emails too whilst mailbox was full).
