"Hostel"
The (new?) film "Hostel" directed by Quentin Tarentino, is very good.

It's a gore flick, but, it's not like the others... it has genuine characters & people, no ridiculous showdowns, and is fresh, like the victims. It is enjoyable, but pretty extreme, a mixture of the very human, and the very horrifically inhuman.

Haven't seen it yet.

Superman was disappointing. It lacked all the snappy newspaper-business dialogue and fun from the earlier Superman movies (the first two, at least). This movie took itself waaaaay too seriously, and the numerous and obvious Christ-like references were annoying and unnecessary. Good special effects and the new Superman actor is both handsome and adorable, but ... it wasn't worth even the matinee ticket price.

I'm going to watch it in the cinema if I can, am looking forward to it :-)

I saw a "making of" yesterday evening... didn't contain many spoilers, yeah I think the new superman actor is very fitting.

Hostel (spoiler)

I didn't enjoy it, and I love horror movies.

I wasn't at all turned on by the sex scenes - all I could think was, "Well, that's for the teenage demographic."

And I wasn't too impressed with... Well, if you're having your face melted with a blow torch, how can you then get up and run away? You'd be in pain, twitching on the floor like a crack baby.

And why did he have to cut her eye out?

That said, the ankle scene still haunts me. :)

You might like Wolf Creek and High Tension (the unrated versions).
