The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science - a UK/USA charity committed to the teaching of science, headed by my beloved hero, Prof. Dawkins.

He is the foremost evolutionary scientist, a wonderful writer and experienced educator, and he cares passionately and deeply about not only the search for truth, but the teaching of it to others.

He is forceful, wise, direct, aggressively anti-religion, and a genuine and powerful force for good in the world. He is also increasingly productive (even at 65...) and vocal, and has some powerful backers and supporters.

I've been toying with the idea of doing a fan-page, but, the new RDF website (linked above) is better than anything I could dream up, so, my fandom now consists of linking it, rather than trying to emulate.

Re: where???

Any large store will be able to get hold of one. 'The God Delusion' should be available on pre-order (it's not quite out, yet). It is out soon, and pre-orders have pushed it to #1 on amazon.co.uk. Should be easily available from any large store. Ask!

Would you share with me how you got those image links to work in your LJ? I want to review books and link them to my own Amazon shop, and haven't figured out how to get the images to show up. Plain old hyperlinks work just fine, but not the images.

Thanks!

Easy, you got the normal link, like this:

<a href="etc etc">>LINK TEXT</a>

Well, in place of the LINK TEXT, you need to put an IMG tag, that will look like this:

<IMG src="etc etc">

The 'etc etc' must be the absolute location of the graphic (starting http://). To get them from amazon, I view the product and right-click the image, and look at the properties.

It is impolite and bad netiquette to 'steal' someone's images from their server, and you should host the images in one of your own accounts (but not all providers let you link images like that, and will display a placeholder). More on this if you want.

I have a library page on my 'cobweb' website, with the images available, but don't have another 'stash' spot for the images. I guess I'll stick to the hyperlinked images only.

Thanks.

Can you give me an example URL containing the images, so I can view the page, and I'll test to see if it's possible, and show you the HTML code used?
