Christianity

I came to this link from a website that stated that there was no God. i would like to argue that statement because I am very relient on God and I do not understand how one could live without him. This Vexen person, why such distaste in Christ?

Okay, let's go...

But is it really important to do so?
you're set, i'm set... honestly Vexen... I think the only thing to do is agree to disagree. Sure, I'll tell you about my life story-- I won't claim to be a genius when it comes to the Bible or Christ... bc i'm not... but i'm willing to talk.

=) But I doubt you'll reply to this... Or even if you did, it wouldn't be talking, you'd be shooting down me and I possibly/probably would be shooting down you-- getting us absolutely no where.

God and I are tight. lol, like Father/daughter kind've thing. He provides for me, I go where he tells me good things are. Simple. I believe the Bible. The contradictions people speak of... if you examine the passages are correct. But of course, you've already done that! Goodness, then why are Christians, Muslims,Jews and Hindus still around? Is no one listening? Surely you don't think you're the only one who's thought of these arguements... yet the only ones you've convinced yet are those who happen to stumble upon your site. hmm... God... or Vexen... God... or Vexen... I have to say, God's got the numbers on you... ohp, not only is he the score keeper, but he's the stop-watch and ref of the game.

So keep playing Vex... I hope you'll realize soon that you're scoring for the wrong team.

Apologetics

Hey,

Is this a debating page? We Christians indeed are called to provide defence for our beliefs, but what questions or arguments do you have? I could examine your entire website and try and retort... but your salvation is not any Chrisitans responsibility responsibility.

I will offer a quick thought though. Vexen, if Satanism is such a self edifying pursuit (you yourself will admit this), then why bother trying to convert the masses yourself. You too recognize the compulsion for organized religion (you are well and truely founded in one whether you accept it or not, Satanism is as organised as any other religion) and the community it offers. If Satanism is so selfish, why bother trying to help other people find your "light"? Smells like another one of those ever present contradictions you so firmly grasp to.

I'll check back soon

Re: Apologetics

1. This is a debating forum; most my pages are attached to a LiveJournal post for the purposes of debate & information exchange.

2. If salvation requires knowledge, then it *is* a Christians' responsibility to provide adequate knowledge to those who do not know or understand.

3. I do not try to convert people to Satanism, and if I did, the numbers of people who I would think suitable for conversion would be very small. I have a page about this; www.dpjs.co.uk/conversion.html :"Conversion and Prosyltizing in Satanism". "The masses" are simply not Satanists, and never will be. There's no point even trying to convert them. Therefore the 'contradiction' you highlighted is a strawman. It would have been psychological anyway: emotional hypocrisy is not the same as a rational contradiction.

i think your statement is flawed slightly

hi vexen,

i see a possibly huge flaw with your argument. your statement "Christians must debate and explain, patiently, whether they have time or not. The Bible says so!" is backed up by 2 bible passages that don't strictly say that.

they say as follows

"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed of their slander."

studying this carefully you will see that it says "always be prepared to give an answer". it doesn't say, as you have interpreted, "you must give an answer"

if those few single words were changed i'd have no problem with your argument but seeing as they are as they are, i do have a problem with your argument, and regardless of what it means, i have still taken time to debate and explain, patiently.

it's good to see some opinion though
