God is alive
|
It's tough to find out where the truth is. I mean a liar could tell me his opponant is lying and I would be lost without evidence. People reject God because of lies. But here are some truths. 1) I was once addicted to porn. No longer. How? Prayer. I tried for 14 years, until I started praying. 2) I didn't have money to live on my own, though I was on my own. For 30 days, God provided food for me through people and circumstances. God loves me. 3) I had a spider bite on my leg when I was working in Jamaica for 2 weeks. I started to pray that it would heal, and it did. I was skeptical and so I stopped praying... and I had to go to the hospital because it got so bad. I have the scar as a reminder of the power of prayer, and the dangers of believing a lie.
Are these events imaginary? Am I a liar? If there were any other way to be free from porn, then I have all ready tried it, even calling out to other gods and Muhammad. If I am a liar, then so are those who were with and researched Jesus Christ as found in the Bible. If I am not a liar, then neither are they, because their words worked in my life. 4) Last week my mom overdosed on sleeping pills. I prayed for her to be healed in the name of Jesus. She was out of the hospital the next day. God heals us of our hurts.
God loves us, and would rather die then destroy us. He has all ready done that. Where else will you find that love other than through Jesus Christ? Steven

So, you perform magic but think that God done it, not you? Why do you assume that? If you believe in magic (and clearly you do - whether you believe that God does it or you do), why do assume that it requires the intervention of a good god? Do you believe magic works even when god isn't secretly doing it for you?
Also, if God wanted to use magic to aid your friend, why did it need *your* help to do it? If God wanted your friend healed, it would heal your friend. If God didn't want your friend to be healed, no amount of praying, persuasion or argument could make God change it's mind! (An omniscient being that knows everything can't exactly lose an argument!)
So, what gives?

Evolutionist vs Creationist
|
So these 'physical laws' and 'nature' come from where or what? 'The Big Bang'? Well, at least we can agree on one thing- all physical things die. Where we differ is our ability to accept the origins and eventual results of all things that exist. Would it be sound to claim that everything in reality was created out of a SPONTANEOUS burst of energy?
Question: where did the energy come from if nothing had existed before existence itself?
What fascinates me is the way that those who are a lot more rooted to thinking in the scientific sense rely ONLY upon quantitative and qualitative analysis in order to understand things. For others, Creation appears to be personified. We can describe it as the “Blueprint of Reality", and which is very much like the very nature of God Almighty Himself, who created our reality. What 'evolutionists' had done was to take Creation (God) and REDUCE its (his) nature down into measurable chunks. Yes, we can measure things and establish truths from those observations. Yes, we can distinguish patterns in the physical behaviour of things and try to make links to others. I don't deny this. But the one question that scientists have trouble with is this word:
Eternity
For something to have ALWAYS existed means it has never had a beginning and will never have an end. Therefore, by human standards is IMmesurable. This defies the law of creation as the scientists know it.
The reason we die is because of Satan who is the Father of Sin. He is the symbol of Death but why should you celebrate that? Why not celebrate the symbol and Givers of the life you have- and I'm not talking about the parents who bore you.
In the whole scheme of things, existence is like a puzzle and each piece represents an aspect of it- some are about the physical things many more are about the spiritual. To gain more answers to the unexplained reasons why, it's better to have more of the central pieces of the puzzle than just the corner pieces. You get to see the bigger picture that way.

Vexen, you my friend are misinformed. For every thing in nature, there is a creator. For every physical law, there is a creator. Nothing, NOTHING, comes about on its own. Every movement you make, every thought you have, is influenced by some physical law. And with ever movement and thought you change the world around you. You must admit this is true, yes? If so, then how is it possible that something much greater than you or could not have created all that we see, simply by his own actions and thoughts? Since you're the one that brought up the laws of physics, please explain how they come about with no reason.
