I remember when I was a kid, I didn't like Christmas, I think I felt performance anxiety! I didn't much care for presents or the paraphenalia, and never looked forward to posing (happily) for the camera... or, especially, opening gifts and trying to put on the happy-look-what-I-got face. I was too concerned for making people see I was happy, rather than my normal moody-kiddy self. Sam always found it boring. Spending the whole day being nice, quite an effort sometimes! Now Christmas is much more fun, relaxed, peaceful, silly and lazy! Tags: 2006, christmas, holidays, relatives Current Location: Germany Current Mood: happy Listening To: "Solid You" by Neurotic Fish

I wrote a page about Christmas... "Sometimes non-Christians complain that Christmas is too Christian, and sometimes hardline Christians complain that Christmas is too pagan. Agents of the Politically Correct complain it is too culturally or religiously homogenous. In reality, Christmas is already a multicultural, multi-religious festival. It combines sun worship, polytheism, pagan nature religions, Christianity, and other later myths and traditions. The date of the 25th accords with Sun Worship thousands of years old, the Christmas tree and some of the decorations are pagan, the Nativity stories are pagan, Mithraistic, Roman and Christian. In addition to all of its rich history, Christmas has now become largely a secular holiday and a commercial enterprise with many tacky, mass-produced, plastic and branded items such as Santa Claus's red uniform, designed by Coca Cola. The non-religious can celebrate the commercial and social event, Christians can pretend Christmas has something to do with Christ, pagans can celebrate nature, and all can be happy. Unless of course you are an anti-commercialist anti-popularist secular cynic like me." http://www.vexen.co.uk/religion/christmas.htmlTags: christmas, sun worship Current Mood: busy Listening To: "Reflect the Enemy" by Flesh Field

Click for full versions. Two new photos! There haven't been new photos of me for over a year, I know. I've been offline for three weeks. I've had two "working weekends", meaning weekends where I've been at work. It's compulsory, just the way it goes sometimes. Now my routine is back to normal. I'm learning to drive. I'm doing my theory tests tomorrow. The theory is very easy. Will be doing lessons & tests in early/middle January. I will be around over Christmas for over a week, got quite a few things on though. Will have a significant period of time off late January/Feburary. My work is like that... lots of hardwork, then lots of time off. Love you all, enjoy the solstice & yule, you all do whatever you do at this time of year! Oh, lots of new web pages launched: http://geocities.com/vexenuk.geo/new.htmlInculding a large site all about the UK! Tags: christmas, photos, work Current Mood: excited
