This is a rewrite of text I wrote 3 years ago. I wrote most my text on Christianity between 1998 and 2000, and much of it is embarrasing now. You know how it goes.
It took me all day to rewrite this bit, it was a long and boring job. Nearly all the original text (and arguments) are gone. It is still boring and mostly irrelevent to most people including sensible Christians, but vaguely interesting if you're just getting into biblical criticism.
