Study
Going to be in Lewisham library for a few hours. Will be reading international politics (in particular will look for good book on Iranian 1979 revolution), then am making way to Greenwich at lunchtime to revise/study for my approaching finals for the Cisco course I'm doing.

Gym
Went into a gym today because they had a sign outside offering some sale or other... the deal is this:

£50 signup fee. (Would have been 130!!!!!!)
PLUS
gold membership £45 for 3 months (up to 10pm)

Anyone else think I should look for somewhere cheaper? The location is dead useful, in Lewisham on the bus route home from college... I'd basically plan to go in there Mon afternoon and Tue/Wed/Fri evenings.

I can't afford it, really... but their sale offer finishes on Thursday so I've only got a short time to decide...

It started to rain a bit -- just drizzle. So I went for a walk... random walk around London. At some point I got a bus to Lewisham (a random bus - it happened to go to Lewisham so I got off) and I walked home from there. The drizzle was wonderful, and there was slight fog too, and the sun disappeared. It was still bright, but without (thankfully) any overcast.

I peoplewatched a bit, rode some busses, just thinking generally happy thoughts and being happy to be alive & in London :-)

I got back home and then it immediately started raining very heavily! Most people would think "phew, that was close!", but I was feeling more of disappointment that I'd got back and missed it! So I went for another walk! I was still wearing a mostly open shirt, but didn't feel cold. I like enduring different weather... so I'm kind of used to cold and hot weather, accustomed to it. And I never get ill either so I get to go out and enjoy it! (As long as it's not windy. I *hate* wind!)

Anyway having said that, as I got back I thought to myself "oooh that rain really was quite heavy, I'm glad I didn't stay out too long!"

Then I realized I'd forgotten my keys... Read more... )

Jogging
I went to Catford, then went to Lewisham. Dropped off book, browsed sociology books but didn't find anything interesting.

Went to boots, bought camera film, razor blades (I blunted two or three yesterday) and suncream!

Jogged back from Lewisham to Lee train station, 1.4 miles in between 11 and 14 mins (I can't remember it was 13:03 or 13:06 I got there!).

So, between 7min48sec and 10min0sec per mile and I was carrying 7kg of stuff.

This is better than yesterday's 2mile run... obviously, the slower 2nd mile slowed down the average overall. OK, I need to scrap the "10 min mile" aim as clearly I'm already doing that. I'm applying for a job where the initial tests involve a mile jog that I have to do in 12 mines. No problem.

Other test is holding 14kg of stuff with outstretched arms, for 4 minues. I have an old military ammo box that is quite heavy, I'm going to weigh it then weigh up individual items and fill it until I've measured the total weighs 14kg. Where's Orinoco with his weights when you need him?

PVC
This lunchtime I got my second pair of PVC trousers... and, exactly the same as last time, I got them for £5 from a charity shop! Tee hee! 'cept last time it was in St Albans, Hertfordshire, and this time it was in Lewisham, London.

"Charity shop" is "thrift store" in American, I think.
