As happens every few days... all of my work dates have changed. The present 2-day shift wsa delayed by one day, and now it seems that we will be going straight back to Germany; i.e., no time off in London.

Which is a real shme because I'd still promised to meet loads of people, and now it's all going to be left hanging.

On the upside I'm off to Italy for a mountainous holiday with Mrs Crabtree, which is going to be great.

In the early part of next year I will know if I am staying in Germany for more years, or if I am returning to (a random area of) the UK.

Inferno was cool; a reasonable mix of sets and old stuff. I hadn't been to Electric Ballroom for over four years. There was a good mix of people too; many kinds of person. In all all, it was pretty diverse musically and socially.

I am (suddenly) working for a few hours Saturday afternoon, and a few hours from 8pm on Saturday, which destroys any plans I had in mind!

I will become free sometime around midnight/early morning, so I vaguely plan on going to Slimeilght although it will depend precisely on how late I get away - I'm working in St James' Palace near Buckingham Palace, so will have a distance to travel northwards.

Had a great day yesterday, bimbling around Camden, and met Orin for many hours. We waffled muchly. Didn't spend any money, didn't go shopping!

Went to B Movie; had a good time. The reasonable volume of the music meant it was easy to socialize. Met Kath, who I haven't talked to for ages (years?), which was nice.

Am at work from 6pm tonight, until 4pm Monday, and back on a different duty on Tuesday, finishing Wed. morning (but might be able to gett off it, a friend owes a favour!). Then, working next weekend.

Getting bored of this unpredictability.

I got 85% on my last piece of coursework (OU degree, Social Sciences), which I am well happy with because it's a good pass and I was severely disrupted during the period I was doing it.

I have got a busy few days work (following closely on from the last weeks' busy work!), (only had a few hours on Wed. off) but after that I have some good periods of off-time so I'll be around more. After that, my timetable looks to be quite regular and I'll get two or three days off a week until August when I go back to Germany.

Working this weekend, Sunday -> Monday, most of Tues, and then I think I may have until Sunday off. Woo hoo! This means I'll make Sluts meet, a nightclub, and will be hanging around Camden and the British Library.

Had a nightmare shift.. well, the work itself was ok, but, the social aspect was terrible. The things that the guys do to each other is terrible, irresponsible, short-sighted and plain stupid.

But I'm not here to enjoy the "Untermensch" by Vexen Crabtree (2004), I'm here to show them a better way. And so I do.

But I escaped as soon as I could, and am now online until 8pm, in Hammersmith as usual, after 2 pints with two of my more amicable, normal, workmates. My next duty is 5pm tomorrow... I don't fancy going back to work accomodation, but, not many sensible options!

What an utterly hard and demanding 36-hour shift that was... hours of exhausting public work, combined with all-night patrols and security checks on an important London building, followed by extensive stand-down procedures. All in all, it was knackering but awesomely rewarding.

Now I have to get back to my no-internet temporary accomodation, and complete my next piece of University coursework, in order to submit it tomorrow!

My next 36-hour stint starts on Monday, meaning that I will *have* to spend Sat evening/night and Sun evening preparing my kit and equipment. I probably wont be out much this weekend except to nip around Camden to buy some CDs.

Apologies for those who I planned to see out on Fri/Sat nights; I can't make it! But, I will have more days-off to come.

I am online in a Starbucks in London... downloading hundreds of emails and trying to get some stuff done...

I am in London for the next two and a half months, until the end of July. Woo hoo! But, I will be working hard and do not know in advance what weekends I will be free.

Nonetheless, I had a great quiet evening out with mattlazycat yesterday, and will endeavour to catch up with as many people as I can!

Anyway... in a months time, I will endeavour to post on this journal a very awesome, shocking and surprising photo of me in London at work... problem is, I haven't taken it yet. You'll see!
