GeneralIn my line of work sometimes I meet interesting people... The other day, I was talking to a General and a Brigadier in the Army, in their full kit... I was well nervous when they came over... after some formalities, we chatted amicably like normal human beings... and got on to FOOTBALL. I faked knowledge and held my own... kind-of thinking that the General was faking it too. You don't get to talk to many Generals... it's good to know they're still human! HolidayI am going on holiday for a week with my girlfriend... I'm always excited and nervous everytime I meet her! Our work is both of our prime lives... so we sometimes are apart for weeks. Fame!I keep getting reporters (BBC, Radio, etc!) trying to interview me... argh... I seem to be getting in-demand the longer I stay inactive! FitnessWe had ANOTHER of those marathon style runs... everyone runs, all 1000 of us. This time it was 5 miles long, with an extra hill sneaked in at the end. Ouch. But, I came 87th !! Last time I was 95th, before that was 100th... I'm getting better and faster! Occassionally I make it to nights at the Electric Ballroom... never seem to make Slimelight... so I do meet some of my cherished friends... and I do keep saying... in the future I'll be back and more sociable! Up at 8am on Wednesday due to three drilling, hammering and stomping around on the nearly-complete floor above me. They're doing decorative stuff and electrical stuff, putting down lovely wooden floors and skirting boards. Went to Dev at 7pm or so, went to Slimes at about 9:30pm... stayed there until 7:30am Thursday. At which point, as is customary, I went to a post-Slimes event. I didn't go to the Mucky Pub and sit and relax, nooooo, I went to a houseparty at a long-term friends house. In Winchester. I normally stick to post-Slimes parties that are at least nearby, at the very least IN LONDON, so this is the first post-Slimes party gone to in a home county! But it was a fucking excellent little thing... not *really* a houseparty, just 5 permanently munted munters (+ me) in one room watching adult-humour insanity and discussing every taboo subject known to... uh, people. I spent a literal 24 hrs in bed snuggling with one most-sexy Emily, who I have promised to abduct for a few days when I get back from my next 2-months training. She has beautiful sexy hips (my favorite...), not as womanly-beautiful as Felis, but, easily second-best. And not skinny, perfectly curvy. Very much on the "munter" category of people. Affectionate, friendly, (but moody and unpredictable when not on meds or on comedowns). Upon getting back from Winchester, I got home at 5:40pm, I had actually already arranged a date with a woman. Another girl called Emily! This one a little South African French girl who I met in September and have had random dates with for a few months. She's cute, friendly, happy... but disturbingly (for me) is very very family-orientated and has some traditional values (I think) that are quite alien. As an alien myself, though, that's always going to be the case with people! Slimelight was fucking excellent, excellent music, and millions of people were there, I can't even begin to the list some of the wonderful people who I hugged, greeted and met. 3 floors were open, it wasn't *too* crowded, although was pretty packed, I just didn't want it to finish! Good night at Slimelight, was wonderful to talk to lots of people and meet some new beautiful people. I went to Camden after post-Slimes social (50 people were there!), and found a charger for my phone, which was a relief. Sunday evening ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) orinotta and I went to growf's house, kimbalion was there too, and we sat in a pub, got Thai food somewhere then retreated and chattered for hours. It was all very nice and relaxing, and we reminisced lots about how pleasant circle-of-friends our fur scene used to be, five years ago. Kimba set off this morning to return home to Holland, Bruce went also to visit, I made my way back to my house. Tags: london, slimelight

Stayed in on Friday night with orinotta. Saturday 10am, went to London. On the way, in a deserted underground station (there was literally no-one else there, didn't even see any staff), I bumped into the large lumbering figure of Ajas, a friend from where I'm studying Cisco. Was strangely unnerving to see across the concourse a solitary person, and to know that person. We put off my visit to shuripentu because she was arguing with her petmale. I went to Camden and hung around for a while before meeting orinotta, pennypenny and hybryd andwe had a nice time just hanging out and doing some light shopping. Went to Slimelight... and had an amazing wonderful time. Lots of cuddles with the friends' I was with, and met Sheridan and a few other random people. Danced lots. I seem to have gotten a new fast-footwork thing, but hey I was having fun even if I looked like I was doing a 50mph moonwalk! After Slimelight I went to a military showcase at Chelsea Barracks. My aim was to learn more about the military, pick up some more terminology and get to know some people... was a little more successful than I had bargained for! I talked to various Army & TA guys. I then bumped into three Royal Artillery men & women that I met a few monthes ago, and they recognized me, and was genuinely nice to talk to them! Last time I met I had told them I was joining Royal Signals (computers & communications), this time I told them the truth :-) I also randomly bumped into the Warrant Officer who interviewed me once or twice in Blackheath ACIO, and a few of the others who worked there. We talked intelligently and we get on well. He excitedly ran off and brought someone to me who works in the same line of work as I'm going in to (I hadn't actually met anyone who done the job I'm applying for before last week, it's a small group!). I talked to him, I also talked to a person from a specialist computer group; which was the role I was initially looking at a few months ago. (Royal Signals 14th Regiment, the Electronic Warfare group). I asked the linguist about Arabic, and said it wouldn't hurt if I started Arabic now (I had concerns I could teach myself bad habits if doing it alone!). I think the WO was happy I'd randomly turned up. I talked to the crew and various support staff for the Challenger 2 tanks, and got some itching questions I had about it's air-tight ability to sit out gas & biological attacks. Talked to crews of the decontamination units, and talked to numerous engineers. I quizzed all of them about their roles. I was there 10am to 2pm, and was told by one of the army guys that I had to be prepared for long nights and no sleep during training. Like duh. If there's one thing I can do, it's stay up all night, and continue the next day without (apparently...) people even guessing I've done so. After that I went to see Shuri and Eemeli, was wonderful to see them both. Walked around Camden with the ultimately-cuddly Shuri for a few hours, I got to plan a birthday present for her (although she does have a wishlist that I'll bookmark presently). I returned home Sunday evening and finally crashed around 10pm, a precise 36 hours later, having had a nicely packed weekend. Tags: army, blackheath acio, camden, chelsea barracks, london, slimelight

The weekend was great, out with housemates & friend on Saturday, went to Slimelight, and met military friends on Sunday morning and early afternoon, then met other friends on Sunday late afternoon & evening, before going home for 8pm and sleeping! I've got stuff to do today (Catford & Woolwich), so I'll have to post a slightly more complete summary of the weekend and answer emails tonight! Tonight I done kickboxing and loved it! I came out completely utterly exhausted, something which the BJJ (last night) didn't do for me. I want upper body strength, it's my weakspot. So... boxing. And because I actively like proper kicking, running and dancing, I thought I may as well do kickboxing.
