Not Ignorance

Since the beginning of the U.S....fighting the British....gaining independence...no one thought we would survive as a nation. We did...and surprised Europe...but it didn't lessen their condesending attitude. They were still more powerful. It isn't just the U.S. that is effected by this...it's all of the Americas...except maybe Canada. We were just a bunch of peons, mixed, slaves, natives, colonials....no one of any worth. America stayed pretty isolated until the WW...we created our own sports, movies, music, etc.

I'm not saying we don't act like creeps or do stuff that we shouldn't. We aren't perfect, and we are a touch greedy.

Europe should mind its self righteousness...they seem to forget all the horrible things that can be laid at their door. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

So, with that....Americans prefer to live in our own world, and I think people resent that...but with the attitude that Europe doles out...is it any wonder? I think a lot of times we do stuff just to be contrary and piss Europeans off...it's childish. If Euros lightened up a bit...it would be cool.

We come off as overly patriotic, but you guys seem so cynical and grumpy. Our outlook and way of interpreting things is so different....I don't think we can genuinely understand each others feelings and/or intentions.
