Added map to my page on Scandinavia

PsThe inclusion of Finland and Iceland in Scandinavia are debatable. I've seen the term Fenno-Scandinavia used, as well as the term Nordic countries, although I've heard even the definition of that is sometimes debated.

I know - I think it has to do with Scania, the area that used to own Sweden and Norway (hence, 'Scandinavia'). Did Sweden/Scania also own Denmark, then?

I read a comment by the Finnish prime minister (I think it was him) who also included Estonia in a list of Scandinavian countries. Does that make any sense to you because it boggled me, and The Economist described him as "stretching the geography a bit".

I have avoided using the term 'Nordic states' because I thought it was less clear.

Anyway... yeah, any idea why someone might include 'Estonia' as Scandinavia? And, am I more or less right in my thinking about Scania?

I don't know about the Scania question, since I don't actually know anything about Scandinavian history per se. As for Estonia, it has very strong linguistic ties to Finland (it is, in fact, pretty much the only country that has any linguistic ties to speak of) so as a Finn you would probably feel as close to Estonia as you would to, say, Iceland, if not closer. I'm just guessing though.

I've added further notes on the page about the 'Estonia' question, you'll see the new text posted on my LJ too.
