To the bone!

Two days ago I cut my finger (to the bone!) with a pair of scissors, of all things. I cleaned and plastered it, and later taped it... but was told to go to the hospital today (by Mrs Crabtree, else she not send me any more chocolate!), and they've gone and covered most my finger in a huge bandage!

At least you wern't forced to leave in a wheelchair! :)

TBH I've done more than a few kitchen-roll-and-insulating-tape-bandage repairs to myself that *should* have received proper medical attention.

#1 consideration is whether you're up-to-date with tetanus shots.

It's not a bad idea to get professional medical care for a wound that deep, although the general consensus is that the only thing they can do that you can't is stitches, and after something like 24h there's no point stitching anyway. But a big bandage is good, and so is tape. And yeah, if it was done with a pair of scissors, you'll want to make sure you've got a recent tetanus shot.

Also, kudos to you. o.O

I support Mrs Crabtree harassing you about going to the hospital. The crap that is in the sand out there will not do you any good if it gets into the finger, if you start feel unwell go back to the hospital.

You girls!

If it starts getting infected of course I'll go get antibiotics for it; but, I'm a pretty immune person!
