www.dpjs.co.uk redesign - at last!

Last night I finally done a new design for my Satanism website, and I've updated the first page with the new design. Compare the new grayscale shield-design (http://www.dpjs.co.uk/natural.html) to the old red-and-white design (http://www.dpjs.co.uk/unnatural.html). I am still tweaking it. Comments, please!

I might put some breadcrumbs at the top (Front Page < A-Z Index < ? < ?).

I just come across your journal, the last i heard of you was when you was going to join the army which must have been some years ago now, am glad your back online as I enjoy reading your writings and love your sense of humour. btw your haircut is kool and you still look a dish.xxx

That's much prettier! I endorse this redesign, presumably because I am fundamentally shallow.

On my screen, though, the main text overlaps with the top right corner of the main image when I scroll down, making it hard to read (using firefox, irrelevant of text resizing). That might be unavoidable with this design, mind - it's not a disaster.

The bold courier used for 'Major Pages' looks a bit cludgy to me, just kind of inelegant. Would the font used for the main heading work better here? I'd also be tempted to nudge it over to the right a bit so it didn't overlap the left edge of the image.

Your points: 1. I know it does, I'm just putting up with it. In my mind, people will end up reading the text 10cm below the top of the screen because of this, therefore giving the impression that the baphomet is flying above! Perhaps.

2a. Yeah I haven't worked out how to make the links down there readable; at the moment I am using arial-cludgy font. I could put them in boxes. Don't know yet. I might not use that area of the page much if I can't find a way.

2b. The links that appear there will seldom if ever be as brief as "Major Pages"; I will have to see how the links look once 'real' wording links get put there.

Thanks for the feedback, it is much appreciated, especially from intelligent and wise people like you :-)

I've fixed one thing at least, with the top-right corner of the image. It's now faded out, so the text that goes over it remains completely readable.
