The conflict...

(Anonymous)
The conflict between religion and rational thought is concealed from children from the very beginning via an appeal to authority. This appeal to authority works, for some time, until the child begins to question the world around him. Why not save him the trouble, hardship and conflict by warning him about religion by teaching him that he should think rationally from the very beginning?

The wholesale rejection of organized religions in favor of creating one's own self-indulgent religion is not a valid spiritual search. But looking beyond the dogma and creeds in order to see the underlying spiritual message of each religion is a valid technique. For each religion of the world began as a revelation or spiritual enlightenment to the founders of that faith. It was only their later followers who built the dogma and institutions that caused separation and antagonism between religions and cultures.

Some of it (this subject) is about pondering over the fact that we're actually going to die. We're born into this world and we don't have a clue what it's about, no one does, really. Does the answer come clear when you die, or is that when you just go into a blackness? When you die, you don't know if your psyche goes back to being nothing or if nothing is the state that everything is in.
